Pick N Mix – Week starting 1 December
O oh, 1 month till 2009!! Lots of links today to help you forget you haven’t started Xmas shopping yet.
- Blind! Idiot! Rat Fink! Atheist!
- Episode two on Shortline Street. This week Maia the lesbian gets the wrong idea.
- I’ve never worked in a clothing store before so this might be old news but OMG I had to try this before i would believe it. Super easy way to fold a shirt!
- Problogger reviews the Lijit search engine. I’ve added Lijit to Cupcakes and Mace because it seems like a powerful little engine. You can add the ability to search your Flickr and Youtube accounts among others.
- Geeky tattoos on Geeks are Sexy; Bathory has a full Star Wars sleeve, plus Princess Bride, Fifth Element and barcode tattoos!
- James Nachtwey’s black and white “witness” photography.
- Perhaps the worlds most inoffensive graffiti. Knitting!
- Every time I look at this photo my heart flutters crazily and I fall in love again.
- So gross, ever heard of cuitlacoche? Well this guy ate it so we don’t have to.
- Google suggests stereotypes
- Rain photography and a beautiful misty river photo
- If you’ve got time to burn online (who doesn’t in December?!) then these random facts could help.
- The Facebook of Genesis
- Blog writing guides by Write to Done and Copyblogger
- I found out about Schmap guides when I was sent an email notifying me one of my photos from Melbourne had been put on a shortlist for their next guide. The Wellington guide was published in 2006 so it’s out of date. Shops and restaurants change so quickly. It’s a great idea though, the guides are free to download!
- Favourite Lookbook looks of the week garbage, bodysuit and tutu, key necklace, twiggy, big glasses, men’s shirt, blue glasses.
- Yo mamma’s broke cuz she spend all her money on rhinestones and cigarettes!
- Bloodthirsty Japanese mascot. Cute of course!
- This is the funniest thing I have seen in a long time. P Diddy (if that’s what he’s called right now) created this video to advertise his new fragrance and to audition as the first black James Bond at the same time. Cue a series of shots of him in a helicopter, on a jetski in a suit, walking with scantily clad ladies, lounging on a boat in a dressing gown etc. Add a cheesy voiceover spoken in an American accent with a gansta slur and you’ve got the worst Bond ever!
I know it’s crass but this comment on the video sums it up pretty well. (Why can’t people put apostrophes and capital letters in the correct places? I had to edit the comment just so I didn’t lie awake stressing about the bad punctuation on my blog.)
I didn’t think Youtube allowed porn, much less gay porn.
But here we have a video of a man sucking his own cock for 6 straight minutes, amazing.

Lol! That *was* funny – at least the first few minutes of it. After that I got bored! I really hope they never consider having P Diddy as James Bond (or in any role that might ruin an otherwise decent movie!)

Yea you can totally exchange the word funniest for lamest in my sentence.

That was so bad I couldn’t even watch it all! Fuck he’s lame. I heard he is changing it back to Puff Daddy now! Ran outta ideas for names I guess.
I LOVE geeky tatts. I am always looking at html tatts online :D
I’m also a huge fan of the street knitting! I have been racking my brain trying to think of an awesome underground craft that I can tag the streets of Perth with for ages. One day.. :)

Part of allowing Search on our blogs is enjoying the revenue the company is sharing with the publisher, for the revenue driven ones the next step is getting transparency from companies like Lijit & Google on their actual revenue vs. the % the Publisher may or may not get, and use of our content when we decide to use either. For start up smaller companies like Lijit, long term viability of the company we imbed in our content is a consideration. Look forward to your feedback on the Lijit engine for our members as you work with it.

This was a nice way to spend my 30 minutes before class. I especially liked the rain photography– beautiful.

Em – I would love you to do some street knitting! Looking forward to photos :p
You really don’t need to watch the whole video, it actually starts repeating scenes! So lame he repeated scenes just to make it longer! More money than sense.

Just came across your blog because I was stalking everyone on Icing (ok, not really but I just started a blog and I’m socializing!). I loved the Diddy bit! He really gets under my skin so any ounce of sarcasm directed his way is wonderful haha. It was great, peace and love :)

I totally agree about the Schmaps out of date thing – i got a photo into the bit on Wellington Zoo. Their info on there must be 5+ years out of date…. Can you remember the last time the zoo had bison?
[Reply]
I don’t tend to pay much attention to things like bison at the zoo (sorry bison I prefer giraffes and otters) but I can’t say I remember seeing bison there and I’ve been in Wellington 6 years.
But as I said that may just be because I don’t pay attention to the bison.
