The Lovely Bones – Short N Sweet
This is the section where I do a quick intro and then review stuff in 30 words or less…
I’ve finally finished reading The Lovely Bones by Alice Seabold. It’s the much hyped book that is being turned into a movie by New Zealand’s own Peter Jackson.
The review:
Alice is a fantastic writer.
Murdered child Susie Salmon watches from her heaven as her killer isn’t caught. Her family lives their life.
Disappointed at lack of resolution.

it’s being made into a movie? holy shit, i didn’t know that. i wonder if it will live up to the book. man i love that book :)
Sure is. Actually it’s in post production at the moment and is being released in December.
It was so interesting to look at the actors playing each of the characters and see if they match what I pictured from reading the book. The best match in my mind is Susan Sarandon playing Grandma Lynn.

This was the only book in my life that I cried from basically the first page to the last.
Granted I was a hormonal teenager in the midst of puberty, but whatevs ;-)
(or maybe I was “PMSing”…heh heh)
I wish there was a review site that did books & movies just like this, short & sweet, instead of all the blah blah blah that you get bored with the review halfway through reading.

@Dollface – Lol!
@Kristi – Thanks! I get sick of writing long reviews because I know I don’t like to read them myself. Thought this would be a better way of getting the general idea across.
I’m going to make it a regular thing :]
