Pick N Mix – Week Starting 13 April 2009

Chocolate heart
  • Days with My Father is a beautiful story told through pictures and a few words. It really pulls at my heartstrings.
  • If you’re not too chocolated out from yesterdays events it would be highly appreciated if you made me a batch of these peanut butter pretzel bites. Please email me for my address. :p
  • Even if you’re not doing the ProBlogger 31 days to build a better blog challenge Darren’s 27 must read tips and tutorials for bloggers is a great resource. Perfect for anyone wanting to take their blog to the next level, at any time.
  • The different kinds of people that there are. “People who are just a down-to-earth guy, who enjoys the little things in life like going for walks, lifting weights, or just doing whatever (LOL), whose friends would probably describe him as honest, truthful, loyal, affectionate, compassionate, and romanceful, and is looking for a woman who is that rare combination of stunning on the outside and beautiful on the inside, and most importantly down to earth, enjoys the little things in life, loves children, animals, has a passion, laughter.”
  • With so many people unemployed the pool of “C grade” people looking for work just got a lot larger. If you’re looking for staff at the moment it means you have more options, but a lot more crap to sift through. Why hiring is paradoxically harder in a downturn.
  • People who get annoyed at other people who get annoyed when they get annoyed at misspellings of you/you’re and there/their/they’re need should read this as one VERY good example of why punctuation is important. Even in text messages (though I agree in the majority of cases punctuation and spelling is unimportant in text messages).
  • Fake “celebrity” Facebook pages are so clever and funny. Check out Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, Hillary Clinton, and Dr Manhattan.
  • Christianity – My god has a hammer, your god was nailed to a cross. Any questions?
  • He loved us so much he came (and then made some lame excuse about having to leave, and never called back like he said he would).
  • If I valued style more than my sleep I’d definitely wear ties more often.
  • Nooo you just drank dihydrogen monoxide. – I love geeky jokes, even if I’m not geeky enough to understand them without an explanation most of the time.
  • I used to be a huge Eminem fan when I was a teen. His latest video ‘We Made You’ is worth a watch for all the piss-taking, even if you’re not a fan of the music.

Lol. You’ve always been a triangle to me, the last theme didn’t show gravatars on the blog though. If you want an actual picture you can sign up for a gravatar (globally recognised avatar) at http://en.gravatar.com/signup. :]

That is my suggestion about the ProBlogger 31DBBB challenge.. even if they don’t actively participate, they should read the related articles. There are lots of great tips, even if you apply just one, it should make a difference.
