Pick N Mix – Week Starting 17 August 2009
- There’s probably no cod.
- This meringue and raspberry ice cream cake looks delicious! If only it didn’t have raw egg in it I would consider making it for Chickie Little’s baby shower. O well.
- Agent Lover introduces a new feature ‘Ask a Gay‘. This month Shaun answers “What happens if 2 bottoms or 2 tops fall in love? does that ever happen? and How do u tell who’s a bottom or top?”. So great!
- Unexpected online eyeglasses epiphanies. Now that I’ve got 3 pairs of glasses that have the correct prescription in them, and the opportunity to buy more, I think every glasses wearer should get on the cheap internet bandwagon.
- A map of Springfield.
- Bows on socks and lacy gloves and cute grey dresses.
- If you’re stuck for ideas on what to write Creative Writing Prompts and Journaling Prompts look pretty great.
- Don’t be sad.
- The Times published a correction in 1969 regarding an editorial from 1920 which stated that space flight is impossible.
- How to get people to hate you.
- If you don’t tell people about your creations how do you expect anyone to know about them?
- These Weapons of Mass Destruction cannot be displayed.
Some facts about New Zealand
While I was away
Disney made one movie, and they’ve been tracing it ever since.

Don’t be sad – S and I totally watched March of the Penguins last night!
How to get people to hate you – so true! Or…if you’re a girl, marry a man who is too good for any woman out there. This works too….At least for in-laws.
*Facts* about NZ – LOL
While I was Away was too hilarious for words. I wonder who got Em’s necklace? Mom I guess…

You can still make that cake for the baby shower, my grandparents had stopped by a vegetarian convention to learn more about it so they know where i’m coming from. They grabbed me a few pamphlets and things from there and there are actually egg substitutes.
- add extra water
or
- 1 heaping tablespoon of soy flour or cornstarch, plus 2 tablespoons of water, can also replace an egg
the other ones didn’t sound too appetizing, i hope you give it a try and tell us how it works out : )

Thanks for the tips!

Mmm sounds a bit like frozen Ambrosia.
Apparently the egg is to help it set, so water probably won’t help. And if you use cornstarch, it will require cooking or else the cornstarch won’t be much use either me thinks …
So you are going to bake eh? :)

Awwwww the li’l penguins!!! >.< love that pic with the caveman that built a sportscar too, hehe. The lookbook pics were supercute :) So much style for such young gals!

Good points. Dammit!
I probably won’t have to cook, just thought this looked yum. With your mum doing hot food, and a cake planned (and cupcakes from you?) all we’ll need to do is sandwiches and a few other little things. I hate cooking for other people, I’m happy to eat my food that doesn’t turn out perfectly, but I don’t like feeding it to others!
Maybe I’ll do ambrosia, sounds delicious!

Great links as usual!

Do you know this:
“Edward and Bella sittin’ on a tree, h-u-n-t-i-n-g.” :D
[Reply]
I hadn’t heard the Edward and Bella rhyme, is there more to it? I googled but nothing came up after that line.

Ooh, if you do ambrosia, don’t forget to use chopped up pineapple lumps as well – extra delicious! I’m definitely doing ambrosia for Christmas this year :)

You got it, I think that rounds off our desert menu :]
