- Desert is part of dinner. Especially dinners at restaurants and friends houses.
- All drinks are served in cans. Everything tastes better with a hint of metallic flavouring.
- People aren’t discriminated against because they are tattooed, pierced, or queer.
- The people who know what they’re doing make the decisions.
- More guys are nerd cool like the ones described on MLIA
- People stop thinking I’m weird because I work at night, I don’t want to be in the hot sun, and I don’t want a tan.

I don’t want a tan either, in fact I’m extra-pale (so not Spanish), but I can’t resist the exploding life of the daytime in my city! Night is so silent (without traffic, etc) that it scares me to death!
And talking about being pale (and loving it, btw), today I went to Sephora to grab some mineral powder, and the chick there was trying to convince me to use two shades darker than my own because “you look a bit sick” … moron…
GO PALES!
^^ have a nice daaaay
Aurora
Yes, yes, yes to all of the above. Except maybe the everything in cans part. I’m a sucker for great packaging and I’m partial to bottles :)
another anti-tan pale girl here!!! a “friend” told me i looked half dead bc im so pale and i went off on a tyraid about not wanting to conform to the male ideal of tanned and not wanting to look like every other girl in sydney with fake tan streaks or sun burnt skin.
ps. sometimes desert SHOULD be dinner!
What? Dessert is ALWAYS part of the restaurant dinner.
If you ever come over for dinner to mine, I’ll make sure to make you some dessert. I recently mastered apple pie, which was exciting.
I was talking about this with my boyfriend yesterday – “Is ice cream a meal” Of course I was on side YES and he was on side I SAW THIS EPISODE OF SEINFIELD AND JERRY SAYS SOUP IS NOT A MEAL SO ICE CREAM IS NOT A MEAL. ahem.
My additions:
Life will be better when:
- school/exams give grades for creativity, not for the ability to have the will power to memorise countless pointless facts.
- schools don’t give grades at all
Cans? Hahaha! Have you heard of Paris Hiltons champagne in a can?! Ooo if NZ had it I’d buy it for you :-D
Nothing wrong with working nights!!!!
@Aurora – Ugh, some people! Don’t they know pale is in. :p
@Frances – The meals are usually too big for me to be able to fit in desert as well. :[ If it’s a place I know I can get a starter and then desert, but at new restaurants I never know if the starters going to be big enough. Dilemmas! Quite often we go by the supermarket on the way home from dinner to pick up a cheesecake!
Apple pie from scratch? Or my version of apple pie?
@Alana – WTH soup is definitely a meal, meaning ice cream is a meal. Except ice cream makes me sick :[
You need to check out Steiner schools. The Boy went to one. It doesn’t prepare you for a life at university, but it doesn’t (well it didn’t when The Boy was there) involve exams.
@Katie – I remember hearing about it ages ago. Mmm champagne in a can.
Oh man. I thought I was the only one who loved that hint of metal in soda.
I thought I was the only one!!
I’d rather my drinks taste like the flavour it’s supposed to be instead of metal :p But hey, this is about what would make your life better!
I work during the day and I never get to work outside in the sun, even if I wanted to. Can’t see much on a laptop outside anyways. Sunshine makes me happy, even if it’s not direct :)
Oh, I’m with you! And you’re SO spot on about everything tasting better in cans – it does! :D
This is a very late reply, but yes, I can make the whole pie from scratch. I knead the pastry, I fry the apples and I bake the lot. I am this close to being Stepford Wife.
