Snape’s On A Plane

If you follow me on twitter you’ve probably seen my obsessive tweets about Severus Snape/Alan Rickman today. There’s just something about the brooding darkness and voice filled with absolute contempt that either makes girls fall in love or creeps them out.

I’m happy to say I fall into the prior category (don’t worry hun, he’s old enough to be my grandfather) and a wee bit of googling lead me to this piece of gold. O ho ho.

But it also led me to this wtf moment and this Marilyn Monroe-esque shot. Fandom is a slippery slope.

He looks much better when his hair’s not slicked back and he’s not wearing a turtleneck!

LOL @ Malfoy’s turtleneck. You nailed it on the head. That sooo bugs me.

I love Snape. But I also hate him. Definitely a lil bit of both for me.

Aw, why would you hate him (have you read the books)?

I’m astounded by the places fandom takes people sometimes!

This is pretty much where it all starts: http://www.journalfen.net/community/fandom_wank/1015949.html#cutid1

It is a pity that the original websites are gone, because there were photos of the women dressed as witches, badly photoshopped tangoing with Alan Rickman as Snape with a red rose in his mouth against a full moon in a graveyard I AM NOT EVEN JOKING.

I’ve found since talking about it that we are far FAR from being the only ones. He has a cult following it seems.

Alan Rickman is the sexiest (older) man alive. Showing my age, my first crush was his Sherriff of Nottingham in ‘Robin Hood, Prince of Thieves’ (worth a watch for his performance even if you do have to suffer all the Kevin Costner).
Favourite Alan Rickman quote “if velvet had a voice, it would sound like Alan Rickman” http://www.nd.edu/~tchapman/alanrickman.html

Omigod, I was just talking to my (mid twenties) friend the other day, and we both agreed that Alan Rickman is SEXY. For me it’s the voice for sure. makes me weak at the knees! I have a serious fetish for a deep dangerous voice…*drools * I’m so stoked that so many other ladies out there find him hot too, and it’s not just me getting old.

    AAAAAGGH!!!!
Christina: I LOVED that character too! Especially when he says “I’m going to cut his heart out with a spoon!” to which his friend replies, ” why not use a knife?”
” Because it’s DULL, you twit- It’ll hurt more!” replies the sherrif.
Brilliant writing, and so historically accurate! *snort*
