A Day In The Life – New Years 09/10

606pm Chocolate

The night started with a grocery shop to stock up on juice, chocolate, and cheese. At 6 we sampled some of our purchases.

701pm Fish and Chips

Followed not too distantly by some terrible fish and chips. Lame.

735pm Cocktail

My sister felt like throwing up at the smell of my ‘Painkiller’ cocktail. It wasn’t amazing, but definitely not spew worthy. I got the straw from Mum in my lunchbox of pink stuff for giftmas. :D

824pm Singstar

A night with my sis is incomplete without Singstar. She is one of the few people that easily beats me at Singstar. It just made my victory while singing Spice Girls all the sweeter.

903pm Loki

One of two kittens – this is Loki. Lots of entertainment but needing a sleep after round one.

New Years Eve - A day in the life

Accessories for the night – Harry Potter lightning bolt necklace & Creep brooch
First spillage – sisters wine

10pm Cards

The cards came out as a way to try and get some drink in us. I don’t tend to drink while singing.

1102pm Onyx

Entertainment kitten number two is Onyx. He was crazily skittish and hid under the bed the first time I met him and a couple of days later he was all over me, climbing up my face. Yay for kittens, hug the pain away.

1201 Happy New Year - Kim

Happy New Year! I am notoriously bad at taking self portraits…or portraits of any kind. My hand isn’t steady enough for my camera.

1204am Happy New Year - Kris

Sister’s attempt was far more in focus!

1205 Happy New Year

Poor “bro in law” was rostered to work till 12. :[ He must have gotten off a little early as he was home by 12.05.

156am booze

Random shot of bro in law's giftmas present.

245am Kris singing

Little blister makes the best faces and always makes me laugh till my stomach hurts. I got a video of her singing hilariously to Stacie Orrico's More to Life.

312am bedtime

3am and time for browsing the net/sleeping in the bed bro in law kindly pumped up for me.

1044am Morning Sun

New Years Day and Hamilton continues with the amazing weather.

1134am last nights pills

Found some of my pills on the floor and realised I had taken them out of the bottle the night before, gotten side tracked, and then fallen asleep. Doh.

12pm Breakfast of champions

Breakfast of champions - Camembert and cheese vienna sandwich with orange juice.

101pm Hannah Montana

I've run out of girly movies I can watch that aren't about getting married or finding love and so resort to Hannah Montana. I manage to split it in to parts when sister tells me they're going to town and I can come. :]

139pm Kittens

OMG KITTENS

203pm Santa

The Tron – Where bogans rule the land. (jkplzdontbeatme)

328pm The Warehouse

The Warehouse where everyone gets a bargain. Except for me because when you desperately want to spend money you can never find anything to buy.

403pm Going home

Home time – Being chauffeured.

504pm George

Mum’s gorgeous fluffy cat George claimed the Lego box for his bed.

526pm chunk head

At 6 little bro is a few years late to the ‘cut your own hair’ party, but good things always take time.

How did you spend New Years?

WTF is this Day in the Life thing?

Gosh I’m such a sucker for cats they make me melt hehehe!!!!!

My new years was average. I’d rather have just gone out for dinner or something <- I don’t do that that often. 2010/11 will be better. New years will be a nonevent from here on out I think……….

  4. Ms Constantine Says:

Yea it was great fun. Because we live in different cities I don’t get to spend much time with my sister so it was especially awesome cause of that.

  5. Ms Constantine Says:

Fair enough re the NY non event.
If everyone is just getting drunk and you aren’t drinking and don’t have fun around drunk people then it’s just lame. I had 2 drinks and swapped to water because I was getting sleepy. Was great. :]

  6. Ms Constantine Says:

    It was fun as. Thanks!

  7. Darnielle Says:

I’m de-lurking to say that as a bogan living in Hamilton, we really do rule the land. Offence not taken :P

My NYE was spent watching Inglourious Basterds and drinking very weak Canterbury Cream and milk. I almost didn’t make it to midnight! It looks like you had a lot of fun though! :)

  8. Ms Constantine Says:

Hey! Thanks for de-lurking. I grew up in Hamilton so I know that it’s true, bogans really do rule the land. I just didn’t want to get the bash from bro in law in case he hates being called a bogan (even though he totally is one :p).

Inglourious Basterds is one of the best movies ever made. Your NYE can’t have been too bad with its presence. :]

  9. Michelle Says:

Umm, I want your sister’s giftmas present. That is totally badass.

  10. Ms Constantine Says:

Glad you had fun! Mine was pretty uneventful…Sweeny Todd and a glass o’ red :) But it was nice and relaxing, as the kidlet went to bed early :D

  13. AsylumDolly Says:

Oh, p.s. I didn’t put on Sweeny Todd until the little one was asleep!!!!

  14. Ms Constantine Says:

Lol, good stuff. You’re lucky kidlet went to bed early. Mr 6 was still facebooking at 1.30!

  15. Nina Says:

I love that little character in 5:04 – such a QT!

  16. Ms Constantine Says:

He is the coolest cat in the world. I want to smuggle him in my luggage every time I go home!

  17. Charlie Says:

I love this, it looks like a great time. Looks like that kitten is doing push ups tee hee.

One good New Years Resolution is to join other bloggers and take a step towards transparency from the companies who profit from your blog writing by NOT writing April 15, 2010.

Let private companies like Lijit and public one’s like Google know: you know they have not been transparent about what they make from our blogs; what % they share with US, the people creating the content they use and re-sell at great profit.

If you can’t keep your fingers from working on April 15th, 2010, then ask companies like Lijit, Google, or any other currently profiting from you blog this basic question:

What do you make from my work? What % are you sharing with me?

Your UNION, P.U.B., Publisher’s Union of Bloggers, has asked these simple questions from companies such as Lijit and Google, and they have either not answered (Google) or used personal attacks and threatened legal action against P.U.B. and its members (Lijit).

Why? Google, Lijit, and other’s profiting from publishers plan on there being no power among independent, freethinking writers. ‘They will never act as a group, never ask us to be transparent, we can pay them whatever we want, if anything’

Is your creative work worth asking this simple question?
Then ask it, April 15th, 2010, and tell your publishing peers to ask for it too.

Keep up the good work, nice cat,

    Barney

  20. Chickie Little Says:

    Yay for kitties!

Spent New Year’s sleeping and feeding the baby – excitingness.

  21. Ela Says:

I love the play by play!
And that you watched the HM movie, you are hilarious. Was it any good?
Your lil bro is too cute – haircut and all :)

  22. Ms Constantine Says:

It wasn’t as terrible as I expected. But it was still a silly teenage country romance starring Miley Cyrus having to pretend to be Hannah Montana and getting into “funny” situations because of it. Ho ho ho.
